Atlanta's neighborhoods are its crown jewels. Wooded or urban, historic, vibrant and each with its own flavor, Atlanta's neighborhoods deserve to be protected and promoted. Monthly, we will celebrate Atlanta's neighborhoods here.
Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, Berkeley Park emerged from nineteenth century farmland into a unique neighborhood oasis today. The neighborhood boundaries of Berkeley Park, as defined by the City of Atlanta's Bureau of Planning, are: I-75 to the north, Northside Drive on the east, Howell Mill Road to the west and by Bishop Street on the south. Bounded by thriving commercial districts, Berkeley Park is a peaceful respite of leafy streets lined with traditional and contemporary homes. Berkeley Park diverse residents, both new and old, have successfully worked to preserve their neighborhood's character and walkability.
